We are happy to re-publish this excellent extended version of the lead article in Strike the Stage’s 7th edition. The July 2025 article continues the work of the June Edition in outlining and analyzing the history and role of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) in the entertainment industry, and connecting that work back to the broader structures of imperialism, state and craft unionism, and the bourgeois dictatorship in the United States.
